Renown is your Rank Point total — the single number that measures how much you've fought and won. Ranks progress from Peasant to King and drive your leaderboard position, profile title, and public reputation.
Earning Rank Points
- Win an attack, raid or sack — the attacker gains the full combat-score delta as Renown.
- Successfully defend — the defender gains half the combat-score delta when the attacker fails.
- Combat score scales with the power of troops killed on both sides, so raiding stronger opponents earns more Renown than farming weaklings.
- Scouting, scavenging and bandit hunts do not award Rank Points — they feed the PvE and trading leaderboards instead.
The Rank Ladder
| Rank | Renown required |
|---|
| Peasant | 0 |
| Squire | 100 |
| Knight | 500 |
| Baron | 2,500 |
| Count | 10,000 |
| Duke | 50,000 |
| King | 250,000 |
Where Rank Shows Up
- Your keep header and profile display your current rank title and Renown total.
- The Combat leaderboard (weekly and lifetime) is sorted by Rank Points.
- Other players see your rank on the World map, in chat, and in the Realm Roster.
Losing Renown
Rank Points now swing both ways. Combat is zero-sum: the winner gains what the loser forfeits. The swing scales with the rank gap between the two commanders:
- Upset win — beating a higher-ranked player pays out extra RP, and they lose that same amount.
- Bully loss — losing to a lower-ranked player costs you more RP, and they gain that same amount.
- Expected result — a higher-ranked commander beating a weaker foe earns only a small trickle, and the underdog loses only a little.
Swings are clamped so a single battle can't erase or double your renown, and your RP will never drop below zero.
